The Love and White Valley hike is a 4.1 km, roughly 2.5-hour easy-to-moderate trail near Göreme in Cappadocia. It links Love Valley's tall fairy chimneys with White Valley's chalky cliffs and pigeon houses, reachable from Göreme or Uçhisar by foot, taxi, or dolmuş.
The trail is about 4.1 kilometres and takes roughly 2.5 hours (150 minutes) at a relaxed pace with photo and rest stops. It is graded easy to moderate (2 out of 5), with mostly flat to gently rolling ground and a few short sandy or narrow sections.
From Göreme centre you can walk or take a short taxi to either the Love Valley viewpoint on the Göreme–Uçhisar road or the White Valley entrance below Uçhisar. The frequent Göreme–Uçhisar–Nevşehir dolmuş can also drop you near the valley turnoffs; pay the driver in cash on board.
Early morning or late afternoon is best, especially in April to June and September to October when it is mild. Sunrise is popular for watching balloons over the valleys. Avoid summer midday heat, as there is little shade, and expect muddy or icy sections in winter.
Wear closed hiking shoes or trainers with good grip, as the sandy and rocky ground is loose in places. Carry one to two litres of water per person, since there are no shops on the trail. Bring sun protection, a hat, snacks, and an offline map like maps.me, as signage is limited.
Yes. Because the route connects Göreme and Uçhisar, many hikers walk one direction through Love Valley or White Valley and take a dolmuş or taxi back rather than retracing the full loop. This lets you shorten the walk or focus on the scenery you prefer.
